THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

November 18, 2007

I am reminded of Kurt Vonnegut's line, "Life is no way to
treat an animal". All in all we lack the perspective to see
the whole pattern. What is evil to one person is glorious
to another. Every act by each of us carries with it good
for some and evil for others. This is why we are counseled
to be in the world but not of it.

When Eve chose to taste of the tree of the knowledge of
good and evil she chose to enter into this life willingly.
The Snake after is the symbol of life and it is the Snake
who invites her to partake of this turbulent existence.

It is, after all, only a classroom in which we are
presented with many and diverse opportunities to learn that
we are not our bodies nor our intellect but rather Powerful
Spirits who have chosen to enter into this beautiful world
of nature where we may play and learn. Nature, is, of
course, being the true model of what we may become. Nature
has no ego and does nothing and yet somehow everything gets
done. It is a fantastic system which people seek to subdue
and treat as capitol. We destroy and pillage nature in
hopes go becoming powerful in this world.

We are here for only a brief flicker of time (about 80
years at most) and then move back into the timeless world
of Spirit. Life is like a final exam. We are being tested
against great evil otherwise how could we create great good
by opposing those evil elements. The Qabalistic model of
creation holds that nothing would exist in this dimension
if there was no resistance to its creation. Outer space is
filled with light but we can't see it until something moves
into that space (like a space station) which resists the
passage of the light waves and allows us to see it.

While I am here I choose to play the game. I will struggle
to learn the lessons of service to others and reverence for
the human Spirit. I will Love and fight and laugh and
surrender and be grateful for the other glorious Spirits
who have also chosen this same path, such as yourself.

We may each see life in a different way but when the chips
are down we tend to pull together and seek the better part
of ourselves to pour into this life. Good and Evil are just
two parts of the same equation. You can't have one without
the other. They may be seen as the light and dark of outer
space. Evil could not be seen if not for the presence of
good. So let us LIVE ON until we are reunited on another
plane.
